This photo was taken right in my front yard during a light rain shower. The hanging raindrop posed the perfect macro challenge for me. My goal was to capture the reflection in full detail, but limit the depth of field to blur the background flowers. I used my D700 with Nikkor 60mm/2.8 lens. F/10, 1/160 sec, ISO 400. I'M SO EXCITED!!! I'm a passionate photographer who is absolutely thrilled you liked my photograph. After many years of being away from photography, I took it up again about 3 years ago. This photo was taken in Key Largo, Florida with a Canon 5DMII within the last year. While walking around looking for flowers to photograph, I saw this one leaning out in front of the Florida Bay and thought I might be able to do it justice. I'm so glad you liked it!

I'm Alyssa Koller from Indiana and I'm absolutely thrilled! This is my first photo contest and I couldn't be happier to have been acknowledged and given a Mark of Excellence! This shot was taken on Alki Beach in Seattle, WA, with my Nikon D5000. ISO 200 / 40mm / f 8.0 / 1/250 sec. Editing was done in Lightroom 4, but not much was done; a little color boost and softened clarity and that was it. The ship in the background is one of the Seattle ferries. Thank you so much!
