  • Great composition and colors make this a superb photograph. Both of the ladies are wearing a fur coat in the same color and the texture gives this photo a mirror effect. The reflection in the puddle completes it. Congratulation to the photographer!

  • I was walking in Iseo (Italy) near the lakeside in a really cold but sunny afternoon when I saw theese two ladies approaching; my istinct told me to shoot as fast as possible to get the right moment but my reason said to wait a little bit more till the background couple reflection appeared on the water (this was a lucky choice). For digital street shooting I like to use Nikon 50 mm f1.4 on Dx format (75mm). This lens really helps to isolate subjects without being too intrusive.

  • The landscape, the hazy light, no aggressive colors and the man looking into the distance - all these elements take your mind far, far away. This photo has a wonderful dimension to it.

  • This photo was taken off of highway 1 in California. This overlooks Stinson beach where a few of us went to surf for the day. Everytime I personally view this picture it pulls me from reality...much like the ocean and the mountains do everytime I visit them. I normally shoot with a NIKON d5000 dslr but this was taken with my basic point and shoot. Goes to show that a photo is more about creating or reliving a feeling than about perfect compositions.

  • This black and white photograph has some strong elements to it. Any color would take this strength and intensity away. The cloudy sky in front of these two people opens up the room and the observers mind.

  • I live in NYC, a city that has really drawn me into photography. Taken on a visit to the Met, this was shot (I'm almost embarrassed to say) with my Android phone! The lighting in the museum really lends itself to good photography, and I couldn't pass up this shot. When I looked at it later, I felt like I could almost hear the conversation these two were having. I’m glad you liked it, and as a passionate amateur, I am excited for the recognition and encouragement this brings to my photography.

  • Great composition and all those contrasts, combined in one photograph. The colors - red and green as well as blue and orange are complementary. The spiky thorn and the softness in the appearance of the water drop - the drop almost ready to fall off - the thorn pointing straight to the sky. Nice diversity in this photo.

  • Thank you for picking my photogragh. My name is Gary Oliver and I spend alot of time out shooting photos. The water drop reflections are extremely difficult to capture. I used a nicon coolpics L22 for this photo, and it was shot in my sisters flower garden in St George, UT. Thank you so much for the recognition, I will join every month.... Gary Oliver

  • Great timing and a well executed photograph. It all works well together and also because it is in black and white this makes it more dramatic. A special moment caught with the camera!

  • My name is Jeffrey Sambuceti www.photobyjds.com. This was taking at the Fitchburg MA skatepark. I took this using a 5dmkII with a 16-35 2.8 with an umbrella behind me to the left. I used Lightroom to do basic editing and paint my subject, skateboard, and concrete in the bottom left of the frame. Hope you enjoyed my work =)

  • A young girl diving into a deep pool, having both eyes open - what a truly striking photograph this is. Also the light pinkish skin color in the dark blue water. Her body is all bent back. Congratulations, on this so very well composed photograph!

  • My name is Dana Chapman and I'm a photographer based in Virginia Beach, Va. This photo was taken using a Nikon D90 and Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye inside an Ikelite underwater housing. Two Ikelite DS-160 underwater strobes were used to light the subject. I used Lightroom 3 to tweak some colors and boost the overall contrast of the image.
