I love the soft tones and the panoramic crop. The wave is beautiful and of the kind that get photographers very wet. Well done for getting such a lovely shot under so much pressure. It is a wonderful illustration of man's attempts to harness nature but also a very poetic image in its own right. Depth of field is perhaps a little short but i guess the fast shutter speed needed to freeze the wave is to blame for that. The seafront houses are beautiful and the lamps frame the picture nicely. Perhaps a little more space to the left would have been more pleasing to the eye? Lovely and very close to the mark. More like this please :-)

My name is Dominique Guillaume. This photo was taken during an Equinoctial tide in Saint-Malo (Brittany - France). Perfect moment to take a salty and free shower, even the most hardened photographers could be surprise by a sneaky surf/rogue wave. However a great but dangerous show. I used a Canon 550d with a 10-20 sigma 1:4-5.6 lens. Postprocessing was done in Lightroom. You are right, a little more space to the left would have been more pleasing to the eye. Thank you to the I shot it judges for awarding my photo with their mark of excellence ! and for the positive feedback.
