Congrats to the winner and the others given the Mark of Excellence! This is my favorites shot and the response you folks have given it here gives me the confidence to show more of my work! Thank you for that! This was shot in 2005 with a Nikon D70 and a SB600 speed light bounced off the wall to her left. I then edited in Photoshop and cropped the photo tight to emphasize her eyes. Other than cleanup (removing dust and white spots - if you have a black cat or photographed one you know what I'm referring to) no other touchup was required. My only regret was not shooting this in RAW. :) Again, thank you for your votes and for liking "Pikachu" as much as I do and CONGRATS to the winner and the others given the Mark of Excellence! - Reba Warbington Arlington, Texas USA

Thank you so much! This is Casey aka Pikachu. An injured feral we took in when she was hurt, nursed her back to health and fell in love with. It was taken back in 2005 at home with a Nikon D70 and a SB-600 Speedlight which I used to bounce the light off the wall to her right. I cropped the image tight and finished it with Photoshop. I think every photographer has an moment where "This is fun!" turns into "Wow...I might be good at this...". This image was my moment. -- Reba Warbington / Arlington, TX / Defining Light Photo /
