Thank you for selecting my image. My name is Anton Gautama from Surabaya, Indonesia.
I visited the Larung Gar just the day before the local government prohibited foreigner visit the place.
Located in Sichuan province, China, Larung Gar Buddhist Institute, the world’s largest Tibetan Buddhist institute, founded in 1980, in which inhabited by more than 40,000 monks and nuns, students and pilgrims from all over the world. Unfortunately, China government made a decision to demolish a large part of the housing and reallocated the monks become 5,000 only at the end, citing safety concerns. However, Free Tibet advocates say it's part of the effort to assimilate the area into the Communist Party.
