This is a fantastic shot, simply stunning. The low angle for a start and the clever reflection… I imagine your excitement having waited for him for so long. Mr Fox looks really wild and down to the hunting business, mud up to his knees and on the end of his brush. Extraordinary work, congratulations on winning this round but also for having a photo of this calibre in your portfolio, just wow.

Thank you so much for choosing my photo as the first place winner in this contest! I am truly honored! My name is Jessica Kirste and I am from the US. I shot this using a Canon 7D with a Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM at Island Beach State Park in NJ. There is many wild foxes that live on the island and one day photographing them I saw this one in a very large puddle and lay down to get him at water level. He walked around while curiously watching me as I snapped away. I love shooting the foxes and this has been my best shot to date! I process my photos using Adobe Camera Raw.

First I would like to thank everyone for voting for my photo! My name is Jessica Kirste and I use a Canon 7D with a Canon 100-400L lens thats on my camera more then any other lens. I process my photos in Adobe Camera Raw. I shot this photo down at Island Beach State Park in Seaside Park, New Jersey. This park is famous for the red foxes that roam the island. A friend and I spotted this male red fox hanging out in a big puddle in a parking lot. We got out and lay down on the ground & the fox walked through the puddle and walked towards us to check us out. We had a great photo shoot with this fox, he was the best! So if your ever in New Jersey be sure to check out Island Beach and the foxes that live there.
