The beautiful layers and movement in the water contrast so nicely with the solitary larch tree and give an impression of abundance and power. The lines and textures of the falling water make a graphic image, the foreground brings depth. This is a lovely telephoto shot, isolating the subject from its surrounds and leaving us guessing at the scale of this natural wonder. You have kept the light natural and soft, the beauty here is real. This photo jumped straight to the top, congratulations you win this round !

This was probably my favorite photo in 2017. After an hour of walking a little above 1500m altitude in the French Alps, here I am in front of this waterfall called "cascade de la pleureuse" (in English "squeal waterfalls"). I was amazed by this show of Mother Nature. I stayed not far from 4 hours in front of her and I found this single tree particularly photogenic. I searched with all types of focal length to put it in values. It was finally with my telephoto lens that I got what I was looking for. I called this picture "staircase of water". picture made with FUJI XT-2 and 50-140mm f/2.8 with polarized filters.
