Free Photo Competition 2017 Week 44 : Entry Number 18

Photographers Comment

Rome, 1975. I've always had a controversial relationship with photography, which I have taken and left at alternating stages. Up until fifteen years ago, when I was hearing about photography, I instinctively thought of holidays or birthday parties’ pictures only. My first true interest in photography started with National Geographic Magazine and from then on, things have changed. Three years ago, following my personal journey, I started shooting with different eyes.  Thanks to Daido Moriyana, I met the Street Photography. When I first saw "Stray Dog," I immediately realized Street Photography would strongly come into my life and that’s how it was. Unlike other photographers, in the Moriyama shots, the visual impact is massive: vignetting, strong contrasts and blur. Today, for someone like me who is not a photographer but a walker with a camera, Moriyama is the perfect inspiration.
