Flower Photo Competition 2 2014 : Entry Number 339

An atmospheric photo, which seems like it was taken in autumn. The low light and the angle how it was taken, makes this image a true stunner!

I'm happy that my photo got a "Mark of Excellence" in this photo competition, thank you ! My name is Daniel Ludwig from Berlin/Germany. I was looking for a field with poppies in the surroundings of Berlin, but had no idea where to find poppies. After several questions in social media I got a hint where to find this field. So after work I jumped on my bike and got to this field 40min later, perfect time as the sunset just began and the light was awesome. I used my Canon 6D with an old russian manual lens, the Helios 44-2 58mm/f2. The Helios 44-2 tends to create these lensflares when pointed towards the light. I really like the lensflare in this photo as it supports the mood very well. The "fog" under the sun is stirred-up sand from a car passing by. I processed the photo in Lightroom to enhance contrast and colors a bit.
