Bird Photo Competition 5 2013 : Entry Number 201

To freeze eagles in such extreme poses in the midst of battle is serious wildlife photography. A complimentary setting adds to the appeal.

This photo was shot in Poland, some 2 hours west of Warshaw, where there is a large colony of white-tailed eagles. These two young eagles were fiercly fighting for their prey. My name is Kai Rösler, I am a nature photographer from Switzerland. I used a Canon 1Dx with a Canon 4/500mm telephoto lens, from a hide. Thank you for selecting my shot for a mark of excellence!
