Flower Photo Competition 1 2013 : Entry Number 733

Judges Comment

There is a darkness to this image, it shows how everything in life has an ending. Also, having this photograph taken through a window screen gives it a special mood and effect. In our digital age, it almost could be mistaken as being pixelated. Also the colors work well and in harmony. And of course - it always comes down to great light! This is definitive one of the artistic photos in this competition. Congratulation form the I-Shot-It team!

Photographers Comment

This is my very first photo competition entry, and I am incredibly honored to have my photo featured among these exquisite works of nature photography. My name is Jacob Hillis (but I'm known primarily as Key Alan.) I am a writer, photographer, and recording artist from Rochester, New York USA. This photo was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel xsi and is of a dying tulip plant which was gracing my kitchen windowsill. So often I see the idea of "new life" in flower photography- I decided to do the opposite. Thanks again for this honor!
