My name is Jerry Cotten and I live in Lamesa, Tx. I was taking photos, near Lamesa, of the lightning strikes coming out of the cloud cover in top of the photo, and getting just so-so results. Then the wind blew this smaller cloud thru the middle of the scene and this strike went right thru the cloud! Taken with Canon XSI with Tamron zoom lens. The National Weather Channel featured my photo! Thanks to all who voted for it!
