Competition Entries - please read the descriptions!

November 11th, 2018

Whilst we love seeing all of your stunning photos in our competitions from time to times, errors occur. Which of us can honestly say we have never made an error with a mis-click or misreading something. Where mistakes happen we can easily remove a competition entry and refund the money back to your I Shot It account.

Some of these problems can be avoided though by looking carefully at the description of the competition. So the Wildlife competition says 'no birds', the Birds competition is strictly for the birds. The Cats competition says 'domestic cats'. The Landscape competition is for 'nature' and not man made structures and so on.

Please read the competition description carefully and save yourself disappointment!

Goodbye 2017. Hello 2018.

In 2017 I-SHOT-IT gave away over $69,000 in prizes. This does not include the 4 Leica Monochrome cameras worth $8000 each given away to the winners of the B&W competitions. We could not have done this without all of you entering your best photos, so we'd like to thank everyone who entered a photo into a competition last year.

When someone adds a photo to their list of favorite photos this is stored in our database, and from this we can see which photos were added to peoples favorites the most:

Congratulations to Simona Bonanno ( simonabonanno.com ) from Italy who won $820.00 and a Leica X Camera worth $2000. This is not a photo that can be dismissed easily. It has a number of elements that you would not normally expect to see together. It makes you stop and think. What's going on here? Why is there a horse standing on a football pitch and what is that plane doing? People often wonder why our judges choose the photos they do. Perhaps when you have a very original image like this one it manages to beat other criteria.

When we started I-SHOT-IT back in 2010 we hoped that photos would be chosen on the image alone. We hoped that any camera could be capable of taking a winning shot. We don't often have photos winning that have been taken with a mobile phone, but it's great when it does happen.

There were many fantastic photos in this competition and we'd like to thank everyone who took part. We enjoyed looking at all of the entries.

Congratulation to Petar Sabol from Croatia who has won $609.20. All of the winning macro photos where excellent and it must have been difficult to choose a winner. The detail and colors in this winning shot are exquisite, especially when the photo is viewed at a large size. Searching for Petar Sabol on the web, you can find many of his other stunning photos. He also has some photos here at 1x.com. Wow! The more searching I do on the internet the more I find. These are very artistic : petar-sabol-sharpeyes-series-insects.

Congratulations to Zeralda LaGrange from South Louisiana, US who has won $764.00. More of Zeralda's photos can be seen on her website: azeecreation.com. This atmospheric photo proves that you can take excellent photos even in the winter months. It's just a case of getting out there and finding the right spot. I love taking photos of egrets myself. Their exceptionally white plumage makes them easy to spot. I don't think they like flying much so it's a bonus if you can catch one in flight.

Thank you to everyone who entered one of the 220 photos, and we'd like to give our thanks to the judge, Mike Atkinson.

Ellen Goodman from St. Louis, Missouri, USA has won $808. You can see more of Ellen's excellent film photos on her website thefeeloffilm.com. In a digital world it's wonderful someone is keeping this process alive. I love the pose of this boy on the motorcycle. I can imagine a man with a real motorcycle adopting the same pose. And I recognised the beautiful young girl from Ellen's previous competition entries.

Thank you to everyone who entered one of the 154 entries. There were so many excellent photo for the judge Lisa Alessandra Kutzelnig to choose from.

Congratulations to Andrzej Winnicki from Berkshire in the UK who has won $592.40. Andrzej is a professional automotive photographer at www.nineteen80one.com. As this photo was take at the Geneva motor show it's a photo that anyone could have taken, but it does look very professional. The reflection on the floor and the ceiling art complement this stunning Lamborghini.

Thank you to everyone who entered this competition and to the judge Tim Wallace.
