At the Extreme Sports Festival in Voss, Norway, everything happens at a really high speed. To make sure every moment is captured, Jonas Bendiksen uses The Leica S and the Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. lens. The Leica S and the Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. were introduced on September 17, 2012 as part of the "LEICA - DAS WESENTLICHE" event before photokina 2012.

Dog Photo Competition 5
Our dog photo competition is always a popular one, with a large number of photos being entered in the last few days, and this contest was no exception. The standard of photography was very high and there were so many wonderful photos for our judge Illona to choose from. There are 4 cash prize winners winning a total of $1,318.80 and 32 Mark Of Excellence awards.

Car Photo Competition
The result of our first car photo competition can be seen here : Car Photo Competition
We'd like to thank everyone who took part and our new judge Tim Wallace. It was great to see everything from old rusting bangers to state-of-the-art sports cars, and some very clever techniques used to make some outstanding shots. We look forward to making the car photo contest a regular feature at I SHOT IT.
I SHOT IT Usernames
It's now possible to create a username, and a public URL for your photos and favorite photos. You can also add your first and last name which will be displayed above your photos. When you add a username, your username will be used as part of the URL.
At the bottom of your account page there is a new row of links, including one to edit your username.
Download Your Photos
If you now sign into I SHOT IT and click on one of your photos will will now see a new 'Download Photo' link just below your photo. This allows you to download a copy of the photo you uploaded to I SHOT IT. This photo isn't a scaled down version that you see on the website, but the full-size original photo that you uploaded.
This link will only work for you and no one else. Our website will check that you are signed in and that you are the owner of the photo, before it allows you to download the photo.
At the moment it is not necessary to upload a very large version of your photo, and many people choose not to. In the near future we would like to make it possible for everyone to buy and sell photos. If you have a really good photo we do recommend that you upload a photo that is large enough and of a high enough quality to sell.

Congratulation to the winner who won $1,165.50 and to all the runners-up. There's some interesting and unusual shots where you can see that the photographer has really thought about the shot and not just pointed a camera at a beautiful flower and clicked.
A new flower photo contest has started. The details are here:

I SHOT IT M Monochrom Competition
We are proud to announce the most prestigious competition we have ever launched at I SHOT IT – in association with Leica we have the I SHOT IT M Monochrom Competition. This isn’t a spelling error by us, it’s the name of a very special digital camera from Leica, optimised for black-and-white photography – and named the M Monochrom.
You can read about it here: M Monochrom on the Leica US Website
The amazing prize for our one lucky winner for the competition comes in two parts – first the M Monochrom camera body itself, worth around $8000; then there is the I SHOT IT prize fund that grows with the number of entries, giving the winner the chance to choose the lens for their camera that suits them best (should they choose to spend it that way).
The theme of the competition is – of course – your very best monochrome photograph!! You won’t be surprised to hear that for such a massive prize, there is an entry fee of $20 per photo – and if this competition is not for you, all of our other competitions continue as usual.
For such a huge prize, why not give it your best (black-and-white) shot?
